GRCC’s Winter 2021 semester begins Monday! Here’s a guide to some of the changes and resources available to get you off to a good start:
COVID safety protocols
GRCC has adopted protocols to help students and employees stay as safe as possible as we emerge from the pandemic.
- Face coverings are required in all public areas.
- Students must complete the daily health screening through the RAVE Guardian app on their GRCC Online Center.
- Anyone not feeling well should stay home.
- Follow social distancing guidelines by keeping six feet apart.
Information stations
Staff members will be available to greet you and assist with directions and other information from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. You’ll find them at information stations on the fourth floor of Finkelstein Hall, on the second floor of the Applied Technology Center and in the Sneden Hall lobby.
Renovations and construction
You’ll see big changes in Finkelstein Hall and the ATC, with new classrooms, computer labs, and study areas.
Work on the fourth and fifth floors of Finkelstein Hall is completed, with renovations on other floors continuing through the year. Check out the bright, comfortable study area on the fourth-floor, near the skywalk to the Bostick parking ramp.
The two-story, 18,416-foot expansion at the ATC has created more room for labs and programs as well as new areas for studying and group work.
On-campus study areas
Our facilities team has adjusted the furniture in the following areas and added signs to promote social distancing. The areas, which will get intensive cleanings throughout the week, include:
- Cook Hall, the first-floor “back porch” in the northwest corner of the building.
- Winchester Alley, on level G2 of Finkelstein Hall.
- Meijer Business Center and second-floor study rooms in Finkelstein Hall.
- Study carrels on the ATC’s second floor, near the elevators.
- Sneden Café.
Technology
We don’t want access to technology to be an obstacle to your success. Students can receive loaner laptops, hot spots, headphones and web cameras through the Library and Learning Commons. Filling out this form will get you started.
GRCC’s tech support team is ready to assist you. Email itsupport@grcc.edu, call (616) 234-4357 or stop by room 130 in Sneden Hall or room 76 on the G2 level of Finkelstein Hall if you need help.
Bookstore
The bookstore is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday for the week of Jan. 11. Students who ordered books online can pick them up in the Raider Grill, on the Student Center’s second floor.
During the week of Jan. 18, the store will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m to 3 p.m. on Friday, with online orders available in the bookstore.
The bookstore also is accepting textbooks rented for fall semester classes. Students must return those soon to avoid late-return fees.
Campus dining
The Raider Grill and Quiet Café are on the Student Center’s second floor.
The grill is open from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, serving grab-and-go items and a full grill menu. A breakfast menu will be available all day in the Raider Grill — a new feature!
The Quiet Cafe is open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, serving a hot breakfast menu, baked goods, specialty drinks, and grab-and-go items.
Patata’s and Subway are in Winchester Alley, on level G2 in Finkelstein Hall. Both will remain closed while sit-down dining restrictions are in place.

Parking
Changes in parking charges went into effect for the fall semester and continue, including a single $3.50 per-day charge for students using their RaiderCards. While the Sneden Shuttle service has been suspended for the Winter 2021 semester, you can still drive between campuses and not get charged for parking twice during the course of a day.
