GRCC alumnus Jackson Shaver looks to fill the third starting position as pitcher on Eastern Michigan University’s baseball team.

Last season, Shaver recorded 65 innings as pitcher for the Raiders and was named all-conference. The 6-foot, 7-inch right-hander attended Forest Hills Northern High School.

EMU has high expectations for Shaver this upcoming season. During the 2017 season, the Eagles reached their first Mid-American Conference title game since 2008.  During the annual Green and White Series game in October, Shaver pitched four scoreless innings for the Green team.

EMU kicked off its season last week when the Eagles lost a double-header against Florida Gulf Coast down in Fort Myers, Fla. They play their first home game on March 23 at Oestrike Stadium, for a conference match against Miami.
