Connor Hartley, Mackenzie Omness receive 1st Faculty and Staff Centennial scholarships

In honor of GRCC’s 100th anniversary in the 2014-15 academic year, the Faculty Association created the Faculty and Staff Centennial Scholarship. For the first time since its inception, it was awarded to two GRCC students for the 2017-18 academic year: Connor Hartley and Mackenzie Omness. Each will receive $1,000.

Hartley, who graduated from Rockford High School in 2016, is studying Pre-Med with a long-term goal of working in orthodontics. Omness, who graduated from Grandville High School in 2017, is studying Occupational Therapy.  She will also be playing basketball for GRCC this fall.

The scholarships were awarded based on scholastic achievement to students who have earned at least 12 credits at GRCC.  Applicants were asked to submit a short essay explaining why they feel they deserve the scholarship. A committee made up of representatives from across campus selected the recipients.

This is just one of many scholarships available at GRCC! You can find more information online.
