Students look at machinery in the maker lab.

Maker lab inspires collaboration among departments

The Mechanical and Architectural Design Department has been sharing expertise and the new maker lab in the ATC with students in other departments.

Visual Arts students in a class taught by Scott Gerrard used the equipment to laser-cut chair prototypes, and Chef Gillles Renusson brought in chocolate and sugar to be etched for a state competition that the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education is participating in later this month. John Dersch brought in math students’ calculus equations, which were printed out in 3-D.
