Skilled trade training program launches in W MI

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Austin Bonter is a machine build apprentice with specialty manufacturer AutoMatrix in Wyoming. It’s his job to transfer designs from paper to a computer and make a workable machine.

… Kent Intermediate School District, Grand Rapids Community College and several local manufacturers are partnering on the program to get high school students interested in an industry that many declared dead on arrival just a few years ago.

Patriots to host forum on emergency preparedness

The Ottawa County Patriots will focus on emergency preparations for manmade and natural disasters at their next public forum on Tuesday, March 21.

… Lt. Col. Denny Gillem, U.S. Army (Ret.), hosts the radio program “The Frontlines of Freedom” and teaches classes in American Government at Grand Rapids Community College. After graduating from West Point, Lt. Col. Gillem served more than 22 years in various positions, including as a combat leader in Vietnam and as a war planner in Europe and the Middle East at U.S. Readiness Command in Florida.

Sweet Sixteen Pursue National Title in Danville!

Sixteen (16) National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Men’s Basketball teams from across the country have earned the title of regional champions and will represent their regions in the upcoming NJCAA Division II Mens National Basketball Championship held at Danville Area Community College Tuesday, March 21-Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the DACC Mary Miller Gymnasium.
