Grand Rapids Community College Police ask for help identifying suspects

GRAND RAPIDS – Police on the campus of Grand Rapids Community College are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who they say took multiple sets of car keys and a car.  Campus police say it happened on Sunday, while the victims were in a nearby church.

Retiring Presidents of Aquinas College and Western Michigan University meet to discuss rising costs

GRAND RAPIDS – Two West Michigan colleges are looking for new leaders.  On Monday the outgoing Presidents of Aquinas College and Western Michigan University met to discuss the rising cost of higher education.  Aquinas President Juan Olivarez says  “We’ve got to work together on this front, because school has got to be affordable for students, and it can’t be through just taking out more loans.”  John Dunn the outgoing President at WMU adds “I don’t blame anyone whether it’s a Republican or Democrat, but we’ve abdicated our responsibility and we need to fix that. It’s critical that we come change that.”

… Oliveras has been the President at Aquinas for the last six years, following a 20-year run at Grand Rapids Community College.

Grand Rapids residents overwhelm city with demand for Neighborhood Summit

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – In its third year, the Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit has been overwhelmed with demand.

… This year the event is moving to a bigger venue at the Grand Rapids Community College Applied Technology Center at 151 Fountain St. NE. It begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, and runs until 3 p.m.
