Panel discussion follows one of two ‘Selma’ showings

You have two opportunities this week to see “Selma,” and a panel discussion will follow one of them.

The film, starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Oprah Winfrey, will be shown from noon to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 in the Raider Grille. Free popcorn!

A panel discussion — led by Tamber Bustance, of the Woodrick Center for Equity and Inclusion, and Julian Newman, from GRCC’s Equity and Inclusion Team — will follow the showing at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in the ATC auditorium.  Panel members are education consultant Robert Hurd, a Giants Award recipient; Will Osmun, vice president of the Grand Rapids Urban League; Denise Evans, program coordinator for the Strong Beginnings program; and Jose Garcia, president of GRCC’s Student Alliance.
